Awestruck is a premium hard cider maker, whose packaging and design was produced by the Creative agency Buddy. The aim of the project was to help Awestruck communicate that it’s an authentic craft cider.
This product challenges the consumers perceptions of the cider market; as well as educating consumers on how cider should taste. Below are a selection of images showing the final packaging and design. They also have an awesome website: Awestruck.
What I love about this packaging is the use of a large slab serif font for the A; whether it’s intentional or not, the way the the agency incorporates an “!” mark into the “A” is well considered, hence it gives the logo that punchy yet premium look. The use of colour on the label design also helps to distinguish between the three different styles of cider; therefore giving the consumer a visual aid in picking their purchase. In addition, it’s all about the tiny details with packaging. I’m a sucker for the quirky additions to barcodes, so the small detail on this packaging is the use of a sliding scale to show the sweetness/sharpness/fizziness, thus making decision making for the consumer that whole lot simpler!
